Dick Fitzgerald

I was pumping gas Sunday at the gas station next to the Flowertown Players Theater when I looked up at the marque and saw that Dick Fitzgerald had died. I didn't know him too well. I had photographed him once or twice for the Flowertown Players, the above photo for the play "Proposals" in 2005 being one of them. He said he liked the photo so well that he had me come to his home to create some family portraits. After finishing the session, he and his wife asked me to stay for dinner. Since I had another portrait session at my studio, I had to decline. They instead filled three large to-go containers with enough food to feed a family. That is how I will remember Dick Fitzgerald. He was just a nice guy. He was 79.
